It is with a great sense of pride that I share with you the school’s new motto, logo and design rationale. We have undertaken a very long and thorough process. We are thrilled with the outcome and hope you all like it as much as we do!
The design elements of the new logo represent key themes that acknowledge the suburb of Ardeer and celebrate the school’s rich history, while also reflecting a strong vision for the role of education in shaping the future.
At its heart, the inclusion of Kororoit Creek as a central feature of the design recognises the school’s close connection to this important natural landmark. For thousands of years, the creek has sustained life. Once serving as a water source and gathering place for the Wurundjeri people, and later as a place where post-war migrant families met, shared stories, grew vegetables, gathered socially, and found a sense of belonging. Today, it continues to be an important environmental and community asset.
The stepping stones featured in the design vary in shape, representing the uniqueness and diversity of every student enrolled at our school. They also reflect the volcanic and fertile plains on which Ardeer and the school are located on. The positioning of these stones symbolises education as an ongoing journey. A lifelong pursuit taken one step and one moment at a time.
Just as the rocky creek banks have long been a place for people to relax, gather and connect, our school also stands as a place of learning, belonging, and shared growth, aimed at strengthening community ties.
